Fallen tree branch blocks St. Peter's Street

Today, I noticed there is a fallen branch from a nearby tree going across St. Peter's Street. It is blocking the roadway next to Oakgrove Primary.

Donation for Fire Fighters Charity

There is a collection point for donations of clothes and shoes which helps fund the Fire Fighters Charity outside Maryhill Fire Station.

If you are clearing out these items, please consider making a donation to support Fire Fighters and their families.

Restoration of the Cameron Memorial Fountain

Whilst the Cameron Memorial Fountain is surrounded by heras fencing, it has been cleaned up and weeds have been removed.

I am very glad that this memorial has been repaired and maintained in the last few months. Hopefully, the clock is working again.

Improvements to Byres Road

On Friday 10th January, I had a walk along Byres Road to look at the significant progress of the improvements works. The upgraded pavements and new cycle lane were clean and tidy. This enhanced route seems to be encouraging residents to become more active.

There are bus stops which have improved seating arrangements and they have wildflower planting on the top of the bus shelter to support pollinators.

There has been works carried out to support demolition of the Janitor's House to improve the pavement and to accommodate the new cycle lane.

There are further works planned to enhance the active travel routes along Byres Road during 2025.
