Trees collapsed onto Kelvin Walkway

There are concerns about the trees collapsed on Kelvin Walkway due to storms and severe weather in recent weeks. These trees are blocking access to a nationally important walking and cycle route.

There are tree works planned along the Kelvin Walkway, from Kelvingrove Park to Maryhill Road. From 3rd March, this route will be closed until these works are completed.

Support local swimming facilities in Woodside

At the weekend, I enjoyed a walkabout of the Woodside area in the sunshine. This area has a beautiful swimming pool located at Braid Square.

As part of the budget allocation for 2025-26, it is anticipated that the opening hours for this facility can be extended. 

Tree collapse at 10 Great George Street

Today, I noticed that as a result of the recent storm, a tree has collapsed in to the grounds of the classical villa at 10 Great George Street.

The building at 10 Great George Street is extremely vulnerable to severe weather events. It is vital that the building owners take action to restore this villa for use as affordable housing as soon as possible.
