Recycle for Breast Cancer Care

This month, I recycled some bras in aid of Breast Cancer Research. There is a collection point located at St. Georges Cross Subway.

I have become aware of more women affected by breast cancer and ongoing research is needed to help save lives, and prevent this disease.

Crowds gather in Kelvingrove Park

This month, Kelvingrove Park has been a popular destination during the sunny days. This is a beautiful park with plenty of greenspace and benches to use to sit and relax.

Concerns have been raised about people in the park getting drunk and being involved in anti-social behaviour. I am seeking resources to promote sports activities and discourage consumption of alcohol during people's day out in the park. There are plenty of cafes and bars surrounding the park where people can socialise with alcoholic beverages.

New waste water infrastructure.

Environmental improvement works have started with a multi-million pound investment by Scottish Water at the River Kelvin. There are projects taking place across 11 sites until Summer 2020.

There are works underway to install the mechanical screens on the overflow pipes. This prevents objects such as baby wipes, and large plastic cotton buds overflowing into the River Kelvin during storms. The project team have been involved in extensive community consultation. Tree planting will be undertaken to replace the loss of any trees at the sites.
