Reallocating road space for walkers and cyclists

Last Saturday, I went for a walk through the Kelvin Way which has been closed to traffic as an initiative to reallocate road space for walking, cycling and daily exercise. I have been pushing for the reallocation of road space and so, I was delighted to see the road closure put in place at Kelvin Way.

There is demand from residents for reallocation of road space across the Hillhead ward including Great Western Road, Kelvinbridge, Byres Road, Queen Margaret Drive and Maryhill Road.

Discussions are taking place on proposals involving businesses, residents, community councils and council officials. A series of requests have been submitted to council officials and an overarching strategy with proposals across the city is expected in the next few weeks.

Artwork around Hillhead

During a walkabout, I have found various artworks on display across Hillhead's closes and tenements.
