Repairs to the collapsed tenement on Oakfield Avenue are progressing. There is a significant amount of scaffolding in place to support the site works.

Unauthorised works at community garden

The unauthorised tree works started on Saturday 8th March at the community garden site, located on the corner of Southpark Avenue and Belgrave Lane. These works were halted by an enforcement notice issued by the council on 18th March.

Safety concerns at underpass, Garscube Road

Over the weekend, I noticed that additional CCTV cameras and better lighting has improved  the underpass at Garscube Road, next to the M8 Woodside Viaduct.

In addition, the barriers to stop cycling in the underpass have been removed. New signage refers to shared space being used and cyclists are requested to walk their bikes through the underpass.

Improved visibility through the underpass after removal of the barriers.

There is a need to maintain the enhanced lighting, improvements to CCTV coverage and better access without barriers as part of community safety activity in the area.
