Yesterday, I joined campaigners on the Fight for the Night March which is an organised march through Glasgow's streets to demand action to make them safer and show solidarity with all survivors of rape and sexual assault. It was organised by students from Strathclyde University, University of Glasgow and Caledonian University.
Placards at the Fight the Night March
This is part of the global 16 Days of an international campaign to end gender-based violence. It was started by activists at an inauguration of the Women's Global Institute in 1991.
The focus of 16 Days from 25th November to 10th December 2025 is #NoExcuse for online abuse. Online and digital activity should empower women and girls. However, every day, for millions of women and girls, the digital world has become a minefield of harassment, abuse and controlling behaviour.
You can join the United Nations campaign and take action to stop digital abuse against women and girls.
